Temptation:

Every man faces temptations. The temptations may be different, but none of us are immune – each of us will face temptations in our lives. Sexual temptations, greed, pride, power… the list goes on and on.
So for men, the important question is not ,“DO you face temptation?”
Rather, the important question for men is, “HOW do you face temptation?”
At mkc 2011, we are privileged to have David Cook (SMBC) and Justin Mote (St Andrews Leyland, UK) teaching us from God’s word about what Temptation is, how it works and how we can face it, resist it and be delivered from it.
Together with other guests, Tin Shed Time and the fellowship of thousands of other men, mkc 2011 is going to be a great way for men to start their year. So resist the temptation to miss out – join us up the mountain for mkc 2011.

To Love and To Cherish – 14th August

We are delighted to say that Mark and Maia Hadley will be our speakers on the 14th August To Love and To Cherish seminar. They have great wisdom and experience to share with us about challenges we all face as we build a home together from 2 different family of origin backgrounds. We are certain that this will be a seminar that will resonate with us all. Here’s a bit about them….

Mark and Maia Hadley are approaching their 12th anniversary, and are the parents of three young boys: Jacob (8), Elijah (6) and Noah (9 months). They will be speaking on the challenge of blending different family backgrounds and what couples can do to smooth the process.

You don’t have to come from different cultures to have distinctly different cultural backgrounds. Mark grew up in an Anglo-Saxon family on the south coast, 200 kilometres and 20 years away from Sydney. His small-town background was distinctly conservative. Maia grew up in half-Danish family, very used to international travel and engaging in Sydney’s cultural milieu. Mark was one of four children; Maia an only child. Mark had a childhood faith; Maia became a Christian in her 20′s. And to top it all off, Mark was a guy, and Maia a girl. Clearly there were always going to be lots of things to resolve!

The details for the seminar are:

Date: August 14th, Saturday
Time: 10am – 1:00pm
Venue: Village Church, Cnr Johnston and Booth Sts, Annandale
Cost: $20 per couple

Please RSVP as soon as possible by emailing loveandcherish@villagechurch.com.au. Feel free to send pass this on to any married or engaged friends who you think may be interested to attend.

We so look forward to seeing you all there.
