Christians in the Media is a network of Christian media workers, founded by Dominic Steele and Russell Powell in 1990.

We currently has two arms – ministry to media workers and to students.

WORKERS

Throughout the year we run events for media workers which tackle some of the issues facing Christians in the industry. Previous seminars include: “Humble Professionalism: Walking the tightrope between humility and acclaim” and “When the Rooster Crows: Dealing with Shame and Regret in the workplace”.

Every few years we host an international gathering of Christians in the Media, called Access All Areas. This landmark event facilitates the meeting of Christian media workers from all around the world. In the past, we’ve had speakers and attendees from the US, UK, China and the Philippines.

STUDENTS

Christians in the Media also exists to support people studying communications at university. Our time is mainly spent on campus at the University of Technology, Sydney, running bible studies, topical seminars and meeting with students one-to-one.

We also run annual events, including a “How to Get a Job in the Media” night. The students are also encouraged to attend Access All Areas and other media worker events.
